All You Are, Mother
Oh, there you are again woman,
mother, friend so beautiful. Who has seen me
through the growing part of all I am to what I'll
be
And in your eyes brave spirit There is a light
reflected from the Christmas tree street
lamp carousel rides Of so many a year of silent
gentle waiting Overshadowed by friends and fad and
father
You stood softly silhouetted against the
backdrop of my life.
And now I sit and
search through empty phrases
And the many
verses of spoiled rhymes to paint you bright and
bold against the canvas mind of all who read this To
shout your name that it would echo endless across a
sadly uncivilized world And yet here I'm
left speechless silent in reverent awe of all you
are in me embodied And I pray softly you'll know
to well all that sacred silence holds for
you.
