Eternal Companion

When I am full of joy, and have something to share
When saddened and depressed, with nothing to say
If we are together or apart, I know and trust in our love
It is with total confidence that I have seen that we are beyond love and friendship
You are my Eternal Companion, meant to be, my gift
For we must seek someone who brings out the very best in us
Someone who makes as all we can possibly be
Who holds us up when we are despondent?
And celebrates our joy when we are elated
A person that we can share all that we are
Someone that you could spend every moment with
And never tire of, making even the most mundane activity pleasant
Sharing simple things, just content being together
Growing old together and treasuring a deep friendship
I know that you are that person for me

As companions in joy and contentment
