An Abused Wife
What did l ever do to deserve,
the anguish of your hand?
And the fear which gripped at me,
as on my body, it would land.
You were so loving and caring,
l fell so deeply in love with you.
Never once did l think at all,
abusing me, was what you'd do.
l gave you my love and devotion,
and felt secure in your love for me.
You used that love for manipulation,
and l just loved you too much to see.
