Some important facts to
know:

I
don't want to waste your time but this is a very important issue and society
needs a "Wake Up Call ". So please
read and learn what is here. You could save a life someday, and it could
be someone you know.
I picked
this graphic for My Abuse Realm because it reminds me of many things. The
bruises remind me of just how often I was bruised and marked up and couldn't
go out anywhere. If you look closely at the graphic, you will see that
she is crying blood tears. The crying is a part of abuse that many women
will associate with. As well, the blood represents the beatings. I put
them together so that she would be crying blood tears.
I don't live in the past where all of this took place, but I do want to
always remember just how close I came to not being a SURVIVOR and an OVERCOMER.
My sister came up with the following names and what they mean and I agree:
1) A Victim is a person who has had a certain set of circumstances put on them, ie abuse, rape etc.
2) A Survivor is a person who has physically survived the set of circumstances that were put on them.
3) An Overcomer is someone who has not only survived the circumstances but has gone on with their lives and healed, therefore overcoming the circumstances.
Even the music has been chosen to indicate certain things at different
times. I put a lot of work into my site so that hopefully someone who is
living in an abusive situation will read this and go for the help they
need. Or perhaps someone who knows someone who is living in an abusive
relationship, will read this and offer this information to them.
Domestic
Violence (wife abuse) is happening more than anyone can imagine. It isn't
just getting hit or yelled at, put down or a beating - it has reached a
higher scale and women are dying from it.
Don't think
it's a new issue. It's been around for many centuries. The only reason
that it seems new is because finally the victims are speaking out. Finally
people are working to change how society views women.
Don't think
that it can't happen to you, because it can. There are no boundaries when
it comes to Domestic Violence/Wife Abuse.
Everyone can be a victim. So hopefully, you'll read most of this and walk
away from here with a little knowledge about Domestic Violence. I'm also
hoping that you'll want to join the fight to stop it.
