Many years ago it was not recognized that a father played a major role in a child's life. They assumed that since the father was rarely home (due to working)that the important factor was the mother.

Now, many years later, they now know the importance that a father plays in the role of his children. This role model will be the kind of man that his daughter will choose to marry and that his son will grow up to be like.

So, yes, fathers are extremely important in a child's life.
