"Everything I do" I chose this song for all my Fur Family
members because that is what they do. Everything they
do for us, they do for love and everything I do for them,
I do for love.
Welcome to Princess's
Home Page (Lady Care's Favorite Fur
Family Member)
In Memoriam to Princess
who was killed tragically in
1995.

By stating that
Princess was my favorite fur family member doesn't mean I
loved the others any less, it's just that I had Princess
longer than any other animal and she was so smart and helpful
through so many things.
Although Princess was 13 years
old and I was planning on putting her down as she was in great
pain due to hip problems and other things. I had planned on
doing it in the fashion she deserved (a vet coming to our
home, giving her the needle while surrounded by all of those
who loved her) this didn't happen.
My daughter wanted
my ex-husband to say goodbye to her so I allowed her to bring
Princess to see him. He did not return her and consequently
allowed her to roam free and with her eyesight going and her
lack of memory, she wandered onto a highway and was killed. He
didn't find her for 8 hours,so I have no idea of how much she
suffered or if she went quickly (as I hope). This dog was my
best friend for 13 years and even to this day I miss her so
much. She was a major part of my life and was considered
another member of the family. Only another animal lover could
understand this and the great loss one suffers when their pet
dies. To others it may seem foolish, but not to me and the
many others who view these wonderful animals as our family
members. They offer nothing but unconditional love. I've seen
many sites that have created a rainbow bridge page for their
dear fur familymembers who passed away, and it was comforting
to know that so many others feel that way about their pets. My
love for my animals is why I have created a site to
them.
Here are more
pictures of Princess

This first
picture of her isn't very good because I used one of those
instant cameras. I have lots of wonderful and amazing stories
about this dog. She was my best friend for 13 years. There
wasn't a dog before or after her that could match all she did.
I will share more later. This is just my way of honoring my
best fur family member. When she died, Ryan took all her
pictures and made a memorial album for her....now we can't
find it.Guess I'm lucky to have these left.
This
wonderful German Shepherd had two guard dogs for parents and
yet with our family she was the gentliest animal I've ever
seen. When Ryan was small, he used to jump from the couch onto
her and she never did a thing. When Ryan decided to use her as
a boxing partner, she never bit him - she just ate his boxing
gloves one night while we slept. It was her way of
saying "That's enough!!"
I was operated on in 1985 and
came home earlier than I should have, but I hate hospitals, so
when I arrived home, I wondered how I would make it up the
stairs to the bathroom. Well, the first time I tried, Princess
ran over and sat down at the bottom of the stairs. This wasn't
unusal as she followed me everywhere
What was rare is
what happened next. Somehow she knew there was something wrong
and while I grabbed the railing and was trying to pull myself
up, she looked up at me. Now, usually when she followed me
upstairs, she would run ahead and almost trip me, so I was a
little leary about going up with her there. But she just kept
looking up at me and then at the stairs. Well, I just knew
that she was going to help, so I grabbed her collar with my
other hand.
As soon as I did that, she slowly started
up the stairs pulling me to each step. She then got me
upstairs and waited outside the bathroom and then preceeded to
take me down the stairs by allowing me to lean on her weight
to sturdy myself. She did this for 7 days, untilI was able to
go up myself. Another rare thing was her knowing when I was
able to go up by myself. One day as I was again going up, she
was still sitting beside me, but when I tried to grab her
collar, she ran ahead up the stairs. I had no trouble climbing
them myself that day and she was waiting at the top...almost
saying "See, I knew you could make it on your own
today!!" Now if that isn't smart - then tell me what
is?
My ex-husband liked to do things with Princess that used to amaze me. He started training her one weekend to find the kids.
We lived across the street from a few factories and they had tons of spaces and lockers all over the place.
I would hold Princess while he went and hid the kids. Then he'd yell for me to let her go while saying "Find the kids, Princess....go find the kids".
And she always did. She would run fast and sniff around until she found them. It usually only took her about 2 minutes to search then entire area and find them.
Our Pit Bull, Madussa couldn't find her tail if it wasn't attached to her. :)
I'll be adding lots more about this fantastic
dog....she did some pretty amazing things that she was never
trained to do. This dog deserves to be in a Hall of Fame
because she sure rated up there when it came to doing amazing
acts.
