Creating a site can sometimes be
very difficult and confusing for someone new to the web. We would like
to help you through this. We need your input to design your site, but you
should have some idea of what input would help us and you.
Here are a few questions that may help you to create your site:
1) Do you have a logo for your business?
If so, we can scan your logo and create a graphic for the web with your
logo.
If you don't, do you have some idea of what type of graphic you would like
as a logo. This will enable us to create the perfect graphic
to represent your firm. See Our Graphics Page
2) How would you like your site set up? Sections would be recommended
if your site is large etc. Sales, Services, Repairs.
How many pages do you think your site will need?
If you have a wide variety of products or services, it is adviseable to
have a page for each with a main page for each service. This makes updating
a lot easier etc. frigs, list the different models you have available on
one page with a link to graphics for each one; stoves, list the different
models you have available.
3) Who would you like as the contact person for each of your pages ie,
sales, services, etc. or for the whole site?
4) Does your firm have access to the web?
5) You will need email accounts? If so, how many? Do you require one for
each service? Recommended.
6) Will you need Web Hosting? If so, which type?
There is Virtual Domain Name, where your URL is your domain name ie. http://www.frank-car-sales.com
or Non Virtual Domain Name where your URL is a part of our site. ie
http://www.dream-web-designs.com/~frank-car-sales
***Cost of these services is on the Web
Hosting Page***
7) How much space will you need for your site? This will depend on how
many pages and the number of graphics you require.
8) How many graphics do you want on your site? We can link your site with
text or with graphics. Remember though, your page must load quickly so
the use of graphics on a page should be minimal or the loading time will
exceed the 30 second limit.
9) Do you require Java Scripting or Java Applets on your site? Java Scripting
and applets can make your site come alive, but again the loading time may
exceed the 30 second limit.
10) Will your firm require a form on your site? If so, what questions do
you want on the form?
Hopefully, you will find these tips useful in deciding what your site should
look like.
